Welcome to Area 1 Racing.............................
We have dedicated this website not only for the Sponsor's who all have generously donated time, materials &/or money; but also our fans who brave the elements to come out and enjoy the show! We must also acknowledge the sacrifices the members of our families make to allow this hobby to happen. If you would like to follow the events at the track, here is a link to Twin City Raceway: http://www.twincityraceway.net/
Thank you one and all.
Sincerely,

****************Stay tuned**************
Well, the 2010 season has begun!
We were able to attend the Show & Shine at The Home Depot. Although there was still much to do before we could actually race on Memorial Day weekend, we were there. We finished up on the Camaro about 3:30 hit the track at 4:30 and time trials began at 6:00.
We were able to finish time trials without incident. However the first actual heat race finished up with us getting towed back to the pits, with a busted right front lower ball joint. We repaired this just in time for the main feature event, in which we were able to get the right rear quarter panel almost torn from the car as well as having the drive shaft part ways with the car in front of the grandstands and we somehoe managed to lose the right rear brake drum....................
We once again, have much to do before raceday this weekend.
There are race track committee meetings that must be attended every wednesday. There is a big push to get more involvement from the entire group. There were significant improvements made at the track this year - including a new control tower, upgrading the track, and food vendor service.
We will have multiple cars being raced in 2010, we actually have 5 cars that should be ready on race day. We are trying to be instrumental in introducing the fans to a "Hornet" style 4 cylinder no holds barred type of racing that will hopefully create some buzz at the track and pack the stands with some new and frenzied fans that will go crazy when word gets around.
There will be additional excitement at Twin Cities Raceway this year. At this time there going to be multiple MMA style cage matches in the infield of the track. There is going to be a lotta "Hurt in the Dirt", "Pain in the Rain" and some "Blood in the Mud" if it rains.
We recently had Matt Tunseth of The Redoubt Reporter at the track doing a story on the team and they actually did an article on us
As such, we have started our sponsor drive. We have created some new logo's that we will be using for our T-Shirt sales. We have also created a promotional brochure that we are using to help in our quest of finding potential sponsor's. Hopefully our efforts will allow all businesses that we contact to see that this endeavor is both serious AND fun! After all - in case you didn't know - We're kind of a Big Deal!
